Dr. Potthoff treats a variety of disorders utilizing the most current and evidence-based techniques. Taking a unique approach to assess and evaluate the musculoskeletal and spinal system, she provides a treatment plan to target your specific dysfunction.

Along with the team at Casey Health Institute, Dr. Potthoff is pioneering a different and evolving model of team-based collaboration. Dr. Potthoff understands the complexities of health for the “whole person,” therefore she will work with healthcare provides to optimize each patients’ body, mind, spirit, and healing community. By integrating her chiropractic care with other healthcare providers at CHI for each person’s unique case a more patient-centered healthcare system is created – which is part of Dr. Potthoff and Casey Health Institute’s vision for better healthcare.

Adjustment Techniques – Dr. Potthoff has adapted techniques from Cleveland Comprehensive Methods, Thompson, Gonstead, and Flexion-Distraction. The foundation of Dr. Potthoff’s adjustive techniques a drawn from Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), a biomechanical, evidence-based joint manipulation protocol.

Soft Tissue Treatments – Dr. Potthoff utilizing techniques that focus on improvement of muscular function, proper movement patterns and pain reduction. Dr. Potthoff’s muscle therapy is based off of many myofascial mobilizaiton and muscular techniques such as Graston, Active Release, Nerve Flossing, and Functional Assessment and Kinetic Treatment and Rehabilitation.

Kinesio Tape – Certified in the Kinesio Taping Method, this unique treatment technique facilitates the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions.

Corrective Exercise –  Dr. Potthoff believes in complementing her treatment plan with exercise. When the two are paired together correctly, the result can be improved function, decreased pain, and less chance of injury.The largest benefit is that you will not have to continue coming in for treatment. Often times pain syndromes are compounded by systemic inflammation that is created through your diet. Dr. Potthoff’s goal is to address these issues and to find fun and easy ways to incorporate the nutrition we need.

Public Speaking –  Dr. Potthoff has spoken at several different venues including Cleveland Chiropractic College, Des Moines VA Hospital and various Des Moines Area businesses.
